Amazon future engineers workshop

DL DAV Model School, Pitampura collaborated with Learning Links Foundation to launch Amazon Future Engineer Program for classes III-VIII and organised an Hour of Code session.

This is in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, that recommends the need for introducing computational skills at the schooling level.
The Amazon Future Engineer Program (AFE) inspires children to explore computer science (CS) and coding. It seeks to motivate them to pursue higher education and careers in computer science and also equips teachers with the skills to support students as they aspire for such careers.
Listed below are some key features of the program:
 The program has been designed recognizing the importance of Computational skillsincluding problem solving abilities, logical thinking, coding skills etc. for children.
 The program will enable students to actively engage with and explore computer science/coding opportunities through project-based learning (PBL) modules.
 Students will have access to learning modules curated from globally acclaimed resourceslike code.org, planetcode.in, Tinkercad etc.
 Teachers will be supported to play an integral part in using and implementing technology driven learning modules.
The program intervention includes three stages that students and teachers will travel through –
‘Explore’, ‘Learn’ and ‘Build’.
As the outreach expands and the depth of intervention increases, we will gradually involve them in ‘Build’ activities.
